Questions About Salvation
Who is salvation for?
Salvation is for everyone who will believe and receive it. God doesn't want anyone to be separated from Him (John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:9). Salvation can not be earned, bought, or something we deserve, it's a free gift of God's grace that we receive (Ephesians 2:8-9).
How do you start a relationship with God?
Having a personal relationship with God begins the moment we realize our need for Him, admit we are sinners, repent of our sins, and put our faith in Jesus: his death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 10:9)
How do I know I'm saved?
God puts the Holy Spirit in every believer as proof that we are saved. We see the evidence of the Holy Spirit in us by our desire to live for God and to obey His commandments (2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephisians 1:14; 1 John 2:3-6). It's the Holy Spirit that gives us the desire and power we need to live for God.
Some common experiences of someone who is saved is hearing God's voice in scripture, enjoying His presence, praying more, trusting God with what we have, and feeling conviction of sin and the need to repent.
